All Smiles In Aruba

My adorable honeymooners Helen and Brian just returned from the Bucuti Beach Resort in Aruba, and it sounds like it was the perfect honeymoon “escape”!

Hi Ann

How are you?? The wedding was awesome, thanks….but the honeymoon was the best!!! Brian and I want to thank you for all your help with planning our trip…..Bucuti was unbelievable..we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our honeymoon….the sunsets were absolutely beautiful!!! We did a semi-submarine excursion which was in the high-rise end of the island and we were soo glad we stayed at Eagle Beach with no kids and peace and quiet =) The staff at Bucuti were awesome…we ended up upgrading to the tara suite for 3 nights which was amazing!!! The weather was perfect…it rained 2 times but for no more than 10 mins and we were at the beach right after. We did the sunset dinner at the pirates nest and the view and service was unbelievable…..we also did the ATV tour excursion which took us to all the main parts of the island so we were able to see and learn about the history of the island. I’ve attached a few photos…..if you need anything else from me let me know. Again thanks for all your help….look forward to booking my next trip with you =)

Bellissima!

Italy has been very popular for honeymoons this summer, and many of my clients have been open to exploring more than just the usual Rome/Florence/Venice itinerary. Here’s a trip report I just received from Alex and Lauren, who enjoyed an amazing honeymoon in Chianti, Rome, Ischia and Naples:

Ann,

It’s been a while and we’re still somewhat settling into our new house and we wanted to provide you with some feedback on the trip, which we still think about. Such a wonderful time. Below we’ve outlined a few things and I hope they are helpful. We’ve included a photo of us and one photo of Ischia – the view at the hotel across the board was amazing!

Radda in Chianti was unbelievable. Such a wonderful location where all the restaurants, small shops and intimacy of the town were great. Having the car was great to have here, because we got to travel around to some other towns nearby and in addition have a day trip to Florence. It was a great time here.

o  Wine and Dine Package – This was great. Having the planned dinners at two restaurants gave us a good opening to further explore other restaurants in the area as we familiarized ourselves with the local foods. The wineries were great as well where we got to  learn and taste a ton of red wine. In addition,  having the car, we got to just drive into other wineries that were open without having a reservation which further enhanced the experience.

o  Florence Day Trip – Great city. We would’ve loved to have stayed there longer, but managed to hit up most of the historical spots. Good thing we had a GPS with the tiny streets!

o  Cooking Class – The cooking class we took at Leopoldo was great as well. We had an enthusiastic aunt and nephew team that cooked for us a 5 course meal where we got to experience some different cuisine when compared to the restaurants.

Rome was a definite change of pace compared to Radda. It was great to see all the historical sights and we both felt that 4 days there was the perfect amount of time. We really enjoyed the Campo D’Fiori and Piazza Navona portion of Rome. Much of our time was walking around the historic city and at times maneuvering our way through some tourists.

o  Dark Rome Tour – The visit to the Vatican was a great experience.

Ischia was a beautiful island. We stayed mainly on the Mezzatorre resort because it was pretty secluded from the rest of the downtown area, but it didn’t matter much because the spa and pool there were unbelievable and the staff was impeccable.

o  Boat Tour – Went around the island and stopped off at the port town Sant Angelo. This was a really fantastic spot on Ischia. Small winding streets and some great views from the port. If we ever went back there we’d love to stay in this spot for a couple days. Once back at Lacco Ameno, which was the port closest to Mezzatorre, we walked around and peeked in at some local shops. This felt more Italian than any of the locations we went on our trip.

Naples was too quick. We walked around the for about 7 hours seeing some of the sites the city had to offer and by that time it was time for dinner where we had to start to set our minds back to reality. Maybe next time!

Our hotels:

·        Palazzo Leopoldo (Radda) & Capo d’Africa (Rome): Both had great staffs and were extremely attentive to any questions we had. They provided great restaurant suggestions during our stay and were extremely helpful, especially while in Radda they provided some guidance on where to park in Florence, which would’ve been a nightmare if we didn’t ask.

·        Mezzatorre (Ischia): Took it to another level, the staff across the board – concierge, spa facilities, restaurants etc – was just top notch. Absolutely great place to go.

·        Hotel Grand Parkers (Naples): Of the 4 hotels we stayed at this one was at the bottom of our list. The concierge was okay and was not as welcoming as the others but the hotel itself was nice.

Thanks for everything!

The perfect adult getaway

Le Blanc Spa Resort  in Cancun is one of those properties that I never — and I mean NEVER — hear a bad word about! Any client I have sent there has absolutely loved it, and today’s rave review from honeymooners Megan and Miles is very typical.  Romantic, adults-only, beautiful beach, great service. What’s not to love?!

Hi Ann,

We had an AMAZING time on our honeymoon!!  We can’t really speak much on Cancun itself because we didn’t leave the resort, but Le Blanc was wonderful.  We never once felt unsafe, so you were definitely right in that aspect.  We also did not do any tours or excursions, we basically just went to either the beach or the pool everyday, which is really all we wanted to do.

We would highly recommend the resort to couples.  It was very relaxing and most of the time we felt like we were the only people there.  There was not much to do at night, and it seemed like even when they had shows or events not many people participated.  It was fine by us though, we went to bed early and got up early to get out in the sun.  We liked that there weren’t really any “chair hogs” at the resort.  Even when we didn’t get outside until after 10, we were still able to find a good place to sit near the pool.  We also loved the cabanas out on the beach, we used our resort credits on those 3 days out of our trip.  They’re a little expensive if you’re not using the credits.  The spa was also a nice addition, we were able to get two massages each with the resort credits.  Luckily we booked before they changed how the credits work, now you have to pay cash on the tax.

We attached a few pictures, one of the sunrise from our room on the last day, the next of just a view from our room and lastly a view of the resort from our lounge chairs on the beach.

Thank you so much for suggesting Le Blanc, we loved it and it was the perfect spot for our honeymoon!

Sandals Grande St. Lucia

Just received a belated trip review from my wonderful clients Mary and Matt who honeymooned in St. Lucia last year. I thought I would pass it along since so many couples are considering the Sandals resorts on this island, and would be interested in the first-hand feedback:

I’d rate the honeymoon on a scale of 1-10… a 10. Working with Ann throughout the planning process was fantastic. She found out what qualities we’d like in a honeymoon and gave that to us. Sandals had many options for hotel rooms and levels all of which were a bit confusing for us to book on our own. Ann clarified everything for us and led us to the best fit package for us.

We were so thrilled we decided on the Sandals Grande St. Lucia. Originally we had considered La Toc, but with all of the restaurants Grande had to offer, we barely had to venture off to the other properties. The staff was top notch. We can’t say enough of how we were treated. Everyone is fabulous at Sandals, so attentive and caring. The pools were awesome, the beach was great, food and drinks were amazing as well. We would definitely recommend Grande to others.

The room was great in regards to size, bed comforts, and our balcony… One thing we wished we had was a Jacuzzi tub. The shower/bathtub seemed a bit smaller than normal. We were very happy we chose a room that faced the ocean. It was very quiet and private. As far as the view was concerned, we weren’t really able to see Martinique. Aware that the island is 21 miles away, even on the clearest of days, it wouldn’t be possible to see from the balconies on our side of the building due to the row of trees surrounding Sandals’ perimeter… That isn’t to say we didn’t enjoy the balcony and what view we did have- we ate breakfast there most every morning during our stay 🙂

We took a hike around the neighboring park one day, and took advantage of many excursions. St. Lucia is beautiful!

We actually opted out of the helicopter transfer at the last minute. Being that we were tired after our long and exciting week, we took the van back to the airport so we could relax and not feel like we were missing out on more sight seeing.

I’d offer up two bits of advice 1) If you’re able to splurge on the room, do it. That would be our only regret. 2) Take advantage of the all St. Lucia has to offer- go explore and sign up for as many excursions as possible.

 Mary and Matt

You provided excellent guidance for us. I appreciated that you really had us think about what was most important to us when we were selecting the right cruise – and not to totally focus on what other people had to say. THANK YOU for helping to make this a memorable trip for our family! It really was a trip of a lifetime!

Clare and Mark (family cruise to Alaska)

The level of service we experienced was out of this world (and we did NOT make it easy on Ann). We weren’t quite sure where we wanted to go, when we would be able to go, or what “vibe” we were going for. After asking us some key questions (what we liked, didn’t like, why, etc.) Ann helped us narrow down our trip details and planned the honeymoon of our dreams. She helped book some of our excursions, answered some emergency questions while abroad and was always available/willing to help. I think it’s safe to say we won’t be using anyone else for future travel planning – Ann is a rockstar!
