Privacy, peace and quiet, and a plunge pool!

Looking for something a little different for your tropical honeymoon? Danielle and Jared wanted to escape from civilization and get as close to a “hut on the beach” as possible….without, of course, giving up things like a private plunge pool and gourmet dining. It sounds like we found them just the right spot!

I would rate this honeymoon 5 stars! Everything went very smoothly and the vacation itself was awesome.  Planning in advance is key because it eliminates a lot of stress.  We really chose a great place.  It was very relaxing and enjoyable.

The flights were fine. They were on time and overall very smooth. I am afraid of flying so being right behind the wing on two of the flights was a little scary for me  so I think next time I would try to request seats in front of the wings.

Everything went very smoothly. At first it seemed like a long layover from Miami to Boston, but I had never gone through customs before and it really takes a long time. By the time we went through everything and made it to the next gate we just had enough time to eat something and we were off again!

We definitely got what we wanted with Galley Bay as far as a quiet resort, close to nature!  It was beautiful.  When they first showed us the cottage I was amazed. It was so “cool”.   The staff was friendly and helpful.  The food was decent.  One thing about the restaurants was that they had 3 restaurants on the resort but one of them was by reservation only and they charged you to go there.  So really we only went to two restaurants all week. The only music you hear is around 8pm every night.  So you really get all the sounds of nature. Lots of birds chirping and the waves coming on shore were very relaxing.  I liked that they had a wi fi spot that you had to go to. I didn’t want Jared on his phone the whole vacation so it was good that he had to walk to a certain place to use his phone!!  I, on the other hand, was glad to escape all that!!

We loved the Gauguin Cottage.  It was nice going from the bedroom to the bathroom because you go outside through the breezeway.  I LOVED the plunge pool. I would wake up in the morning and take a dip or after dinner we would sit in the pool. That really made the cottage worth it over the ocean view.  We loved how rustic the cottage was.  It takes you away from the “real” world.  It was very private too.

The only thing we did, because we really wanted to do nothing all week was take a catamaran around the entire island.  They had a guy on the resort named Frenchie who set us up. He said be on the beach at 8:30.  We got to see all the celebrities houses, get some history on the places around the island and  then they took us snorkeling.  After snorkeling they had a nice lunch on the boat.  Then once we got moving again they stopped at a beach and let us go swimming.  It was a blast. I would highly recommend it.  That’s all we did.  We were really content on doing nothing.  We were at the pool everyday.

We brought a lot of exercise clothes and sneakers and we did not exercise once!!!  You really have to take the time to relax when you are in Antigua. It is so beautiful there.  Bring lots of bathing suits!

Galley Bay is a resort for people who want a laid back vacation or honeymoon.  No one was getting crazy or anything like that.  It is a place to be with the one you love and just taking it easy.  Many people hung out by the pool and were reading or sleeping.  It is a beautiful resort with great hospitality.

Thanks again!

You provided excellent guidance for us. I appreciated that you really had us think about what was most important to us when we were selecting the right cruise – and not to totally focus on what other people had to say. THANK YOU for helping to make this a memorable trip for our family! It really was a trip of a lifetime!

The level of service we experienced was out of this world (and we did NOT make it easy on Ann). We weren’t quite sure where we wanted to go, when we would be able to go, or what “vibe” we were going for. After asking us some key questions (what we liked, didn’t like, why, etc.) Ann helped us narrow down our trip details and planned the honeymoon of our dreams. She helped book some of our excursions, answered some emergency questions while abroad and was always available/willing to help. I think it’s safe to say we won’t be using anyone else for future travel planning – Ann is a rockstar!
